Ministry to Families of the Newly Baptised
The parish provides families of newly baptised infants with ongoing parish contact and support during the pre-school years. This is a newly introduced pastoral care program (2008).
All families of newly baptised children are invited to come along to special events organised each year. Families are also invited to join regular parish community groups including Family Groups, Play Group and the Young Adults Group.
Background
Two members of the Northbridge Parish Pastoral Council have done the initial work in establishing this program. On-going coordination is done in conjunction with parish volunteers and some members of the music ministry. The program receives administrative support from the Parish Office and some resource support through the “God Start” program conducted by Centrecare Catholic Family Services.
