Outreach to our communities and beyond ....

A significant part of our evangelisation of the Gospel is our witness to Christian charity and social justice. Our parish has focused on a small number of significant areas of outreach, as follows:

Lower North Shore Sanctuary Movement

This activity focuses on raising funds to provide financial assistance to refugees who have obtained Australian visas but do not have the money to immigrate. For mre information, contact the Ministry Coordinators, Helen Walsh and Irma Di Santo.

St Canice's Kitchen

Twice a year, in June and November, the Naremburn and Northbridge communities get together to help serve lunch at St Canice's Kitchen, to the homeless in Kings Cross. Details are published in the newsletter in the weeks prior to the events. For more information, contact the Ministry Coordiantors, Audrey Gleecher and Geoff Gemmell.

St Vincent de Paul Mission to Waterloo

Each week, volunteers go out to Waterloo to visit and minister to those in need. In Advent each year, parishioners are asked to contribute children's Christmas presents and Christmas hampers for delivery to those in need in the Waterloo area. For more information, contact the Ministry Coordinator, Michael Concannon.

Charitable Works Fund (CWF)

Three times a year the parish runs focused fund-raising efforts for charitable works, delivered through specialist organisations of the Broken Bay Diocese - primarily Centacare and the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine. For more information, contact the parish office.

Special Focus Areas

Each year the pastoral council and pastoral committees look at potential areas of need that the parish can focus its attention. In the past, this has included fundraising to purchase a bus for a hospital in East Timor, a teacher training centre in East Timor and other specialised needs. For more information, contact Brian Dwyer and Marie Harris.
