Youth in Parish Life

There are a number of opportunities for young people to be involved in parish life. Anointed and Sent: An Australian Vision for Catholic Youth Ministry, tells us

“Young people are more likely to gain a sense of identity in the community when they are fully engaged as members, living their life in Christ. They need to be given opportunities to contribute in areas where they have gifts and skills.”

And so we extend a particular invitation to our young people to serve alongside other members of the community.

LITURGY

musical_notes.jpgSing or play an instrument?
There are several music teams across the parish that are always looking for new

members. Check back soon for more info, or approach the music team after Mass, or

              contact Aaron.

Mac-Book-Pro-On-icon.jpgTech savvy?
There is plenty to be done! From preparing slides for Mass, operating the projector

during Mass, to helping some music groups with sound check, we're always on the

lookout for an eager set of computer savvy hands.

book.jpgEnjoy reading?
Each Sunday we hear words written thousands of years ago that still have the power to

change the course of history! Will you be the voice that brings these words alive?

user_group.jpg   Like people?
No one should ever walk through the doors of a Catholic Church and feel unimportant!

One of the most important jobs before, during and after Mass, is that of making people

feel welcome, like they belong. Can you help?

OUTREACH

Twice a year the parish assists with meals at St Canice's Kitchen in Kings Cross. A cross-section of youth and adults assemble for the 8am Mass at St Leonard's, receive a blessing for the mission and travel out to Kings Cross, returning around 3pm.

(NB: There is also a Young Adults Group for parishioners aged 18-35)
